The filing is extended to **15 July 2020 (from 31 March 2020)**. The IRS explained that Form 8809-I, *Application for Extension of Time to File FATCA Form 8966,* will not be required for this extension. This extension applies to Model 2 IGA countries. As of March 2020, the IRS has signed Model 2 IGAs with 10 countries\* around the globe (i.e., Armenia, Austria, Bermuda, Chile, Hong Kong, Japan, Macao, San Marino, Switzerland and Taiwan). Model 1 IGA countries, which is the rest, would be forced to oblige by the rules and regulations established by those countries.
